Women's Golf Diary

Melissa Wolfe - lady golfer Women's Golf Diary - Melissa Wolfe

Melissa Wolfe, the vice president and branch manager of Capital Bank in Wake Forest, North Carolina shares her women’s golf diary with golfoutloud.com.

When I think about my golf experience, I could describe it as emotional yet relaxing.

I was introduced to golf by my dad when I was eight.

My first clubs were borrowed.  The must-have club for me is my 7-iron because it does it all for me.

My favorite course to date is Manassas Hills Golf Course in Manassas, Virginia:  It is a 9-hole course where I spent many hours with my dad.

If I could improve any area of my golf game, it would be my putting.

Three people (living or deceased) who I would like to play 18 holes of golf with would be Gary Player,

Chi Chi Rodriguez and Bob Hope.

If I could play anywhere next weekend, I would hit the tees at Augusta National and I would make sure I enjoyed the beautiful scenery while there.

Sherry Burchett Women’s Golf Diary – Sherry Burchett

Sherry Burchett, the regional account executive of Lifesigns in Raleigh, North Carolina shares her women’s golf diary with golfoutloud.com.

I could describe my golf experience as something that I have put down and picked-up over the years, but have never had the desire to give up on.

I was introduced to golf by my dad when I was 12 years old.

My first clubs were my mom’s hand-me-downs.  Today, the must-have club for me is my 7 wood because it’s saved me from the rough and it’s great for those uphill shots that are 125 yards to the green.

My favorite course to date is The Heritage Golf Club in Wake Forest, North Carolina

I enjoy women’s golf because it gives me the opportunity to enjoy an outdoor activity in almost any town I visit; I hope to play for many more years. I also cherish the passion for golf my mom has shared throughout my life

If I could improve any area of my golf game, it would be my distance off the tee box, but I’m working on it

Three people (living or deceased) who I would like to play 18 holes of golf with would be my dad, Perry Burchett; my grandfather, John Osteen; and LPGA legend Peggy Kirk-Bell

If I could play anywhere next weekend, I would hit the tees at Pebble Beach and I would make sure I extended my trip to visit wine country while there.
